Sussex Energy Saving Programme
Sussex Energy Saving Programme
All the local authorities across East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove City Council are working together to improve the energy efficiency of all properties in their areas.
This programme will make maximum use of new Government schemes to install energy saving measures in up to 680,000 households over the next 25 years. We have appointed energy company Carillion as our delivery partner and this will enable us to provide a good quality, value for money and accredited service for our residents.
The benefits of the Sussex Energy Saving Programme are to:
- help all residents to create warmer, healthier homes and reduce carbon emissions;
- help boost the local economy by creating work for local businesses;
- create opportunities for the local workforce, including work placements, apprenticeships and skills development; and
- help vulnerable residents and those at risk of struggling to pay their fuel bills.
The Energy Saving Programme will be able to offer households:
- ECO (Energy Company Obligation) – grant funding that is subject to eligibility criteria.
- Green Deal – help to install energy saving improvements fitted, at little or no upfront cost, through a loan which is paid back from the savings made on the property’s energy bills.
If you are finding it hard to pay increasing energy bills the West Sussex Affordable Energy website is a good place to look for advice. You can find information about grants or payments you may be entitled to as well as advice on how to manage your energy use and reduce your bills while staying warm and healthy.
